1. Application of Terms
1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all goods, services, memberships, and events provided by Business Community Network Ltd (“Oxford Business Community Network”).
1.2 Any order, booking, or membership is subject to these Terms, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Oxford Business Community Network.
1.3 Business Customers Only. By purchasing services, memberships, or event tickets from Oxford Business Community Network, the Customer confirms that they are acting in the course of a business, trade, or profession and not as a consumer. Accordingly, consumer protection legislation (including statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) does not apply.
2. Definitions
Customer / Member – the individual or company purchasing services, memberships, or event tickets.
Services – business support, training, workshops, consultancy, or other services provided by Oxford Business Community Network.
Events – in-person or online events, seminars, workshops, or networking sessions organised by Oxford Business Community Network.
Membership – subscription packages offered by Oxford Business Community Network, with benefits as agreed at the time of joining.
Contract – the agreement between Oxford Business Community Network and the Customer, governed by these Terms.
3. Services
3.1 Services will be provided as set out in the order, booking confirmation, or invoice.
3.2 Oxford Business Community Network will use reasonable skill and care in delivering Services but does not guarantee any specific outcomes.
4. Events
4.1 Event bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.
4.2 All ticket sales are final. Refunds will not be given unless Oxford Business Community Network cancels or reschedules the event.
4.3 Oxford Business Community Network may change the date, time, content, or venue of an event. If this occurs, customers may transfer their booking or request a refund of the ticket price paid.
4.4 Oxford Business Community Network accepts no responsibility for travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by attendees in relation to cancelled or rescheduled events.
4.5 Attendees must behave respectfully towards others. Oxford Business Community Network reserves the right to refuse entry or remove participants for disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, without refund.
4.6 Tickets & Admission. Tickets are issued as e‑tickets to the named attendee. We may request photo ID matching the attendee name on the ticket. Tickets are non‑transferable without our prior consent; resale is prohibited.
4.7 Substitutions. You may nominate a substitute attendee up to 48 hours before the event. After this time, we will use reasonable efforts, but badge/guest list/catering changes cannot be guaranteed.
4.8 No‑Show. No refunds or credits are available for non‑attendance.
4.9 Attendee Details & Deadlines. Attendee names and any accessibility needs should be provided no later than five (5) business days before the event to ensure we can accommodate them.
4.10 Agenda & Extras. Agenda, speakers, and included extras are subject to change. Changes that do not materially reduce overall event value do not entitle you to a refund.
4.11 Filming/Photography. Events may be filmed and/or photographed. By attending, you grant us the right to use your image and voice for marketing and documentation. If you prefer not to appear, please tell us on arrival and we will take reasonable steps to minimise appearance (e.g. seating placement).
4.12 Venue Rules & Safety. Attendees must comply with venue policies and safety instructions. We may refuse entry or remove any attendee for breaches without refund.
4.13 Personal Property. You are responsible for your personal belongings at the venue. Oxford Business Community Network is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
4.14 Catering & Allergens. Venue catering is provided by the venue or its nominated caterers. While we will pass on any dietary requirements notified by the deadline, Oxford Business Community Network does not prepare food and is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of allergen information, or for preventing cross‑contamination. All food‑related obligations and liability rest with the venue/caterer. If you have severe allergies or medical dietary needs, please speak directly to venue staff on arrival.
4.15 Attendance Numbers. Any references to attendee numbers are indicative only and do not constitute a guarantee. The event may proceed regardless of final ticket sales. We may adjust room layout or format to suit actual attendance. No refunds are available on the basis of attendee numbers.
5. Membership
5.1 Membership packages and benefits will be set out in the membership information provided at the time of joining.
5.2 Membership fees, duration, and cancellation terms may vary by package and will be confirmed in writing.
5.3 Membership is non-transferable.
5.4 Oxford Business Community Network reserves the right to suspend or cancel memberships if fees are unpaid or if members act in a way that is inconsistent with the aims of Oxford Business Community Network.
6. Price and Payment
6.1 Fees for goods, services, memberships, and events will be as set out in the order, invoice, or membership agreement.
6.2 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due at the time of booking or within 7 business days of invoice.
6.3 Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6.4 Oxford Business Community Network may suspend services, membership, or event access where payments are overdue.
6.5 VAT & Invoices. All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated. VAT is charged at the prevailing rate. VAT invoices are issued electronically.
7. Cancellations
7.1 Customer cancellations of services or memberships are subject to the notice period set out in the relevant agreement or package.
7.2 Event tickets are non-refundable except as provided in Clause 4.
7.3 Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights which cannot legally be excluded.
8. Liability
8.1 Oxford Business Community Network will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business, or goodwill.
8.2 Oxford Business Community Network’s total liability in respect of any claim will not exceed the fees paid by the Customer under the relevant contract.
8.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any matter which cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
9. Data Protection
9.1 Oxford Business Community Network will process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
9.2 Further details are set out in Oxford Business Community Network’s Privacy Policy.
9.3 Marketing Communications. We may send marketing communications on the basis of our legitimate interests as described in our Privacy Policy. Please see that policy for details, including how to object to or manage such communications.
10. Force Majeure
Oxford Business Community Network shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including power failures, internet outages, strikes, fire, flood, or government action.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Training and Advice Disclaimer
12.1 Any training, guidance, advice, or information provided by Oxford Business Community Network, whether during events, workshops, consultancy sessions, or in written or digital materials, is provided in good faith for general information and educational purposes only.
12.2 Oxford Business Community Network does not warrant that such information is complete, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose. Customers and Members are responsible for verifying the applicability of any advice to their own circumstances before acting on it.
12.3 Oxford Business Community Network shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or claims arising from reliance on training, guidance, advice, or information provided, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
13. Digital Materials
13.1 Any post‑event materials (including on‑demand presentations, recordings, and the AI Cheat Sheet) are licensed to the purchasing Customer for internal business use only.
13.2 You must not copy, distribute, publish, or resell such materials without our prior written consent.
